Birthday Field Trip
This year for Ashlynn's 6th birthday, our family took a field trip to the Georgia aquarium. We were excited to have cousin Cassie join us for our excursion. The only problem was that the kids had been sick up to the night before leaving. Ashlynn even got an early birthday present from C-C and Pops since she was sick...the Princess and the Frog movie. She enjoyed watching that while she felt bad. We preordered our tickets. So when all of the kids woke up Wednesday morning without fever, we hit the road. The kids loved seeing all of the exciting things. Ashlynn and Eli sat at one viewing window for a long time. I probably could have left them there to watch, and they would have been just fine. It was so neat to see Isaac when we came into the first large aquarium veiwing area. He leaned back in his stroller, and just watched wide-eyed. We were able to touch shrimp, sea anemone, and manta ray. The beluga whales were really active during our time there, so it was fun to seem them! After enjoying a day at the aquarium, we headed to an Italian restaurant for dinner. On our way there, Ashlynn fell asleep. When she woke up, she was running fever. So her birthday dinner wasn't that much fun. She relaxed while the rest of us ate dinner. Ashlynn came home to a few special treats. There were balloons on the back door from Pepa and Gigi, and her new bicycle in the living room. She felt a little better, so she decided to try out the bike for a few minutes before bedtime. After all of our birthday fun, Ashlynn and Eli ended up going to the doctor the next day. They both had strep throat. But, by Saturday they were feeling much better. I hate she was sick for her birthday, but I am glad she felt good enough to enjoy her aquarium visit.

I was wondering if she was able to go. Glad she was! Looks like she had a fantastic birthday, despite strep throat - and that says a lot!
